Can you be held liable for making enhancements to your vehicle?

Some people like to make enhancements to their cars. These enhancements include larger tires, bright lights, and stylish paint jobs.

In most cases, such enhancements will not be held against a driver in a car accident. However, if it can be shown that the enhancement led directly or indirectly to the car accident. For instance, if the car's enhanced bright lights caused another vehicle to lose control, then the bright lights may be used as evidence in a personal injury case.

How does black ice affect driving conditions?

Black ice is a type of ice in which the ice is frozen without many air bubbles. This feature of black ice makes it very transparent.

Black ice’s transparency leads to many car accidents because drivers cannot detect that there is ice on the road. Instead of driving cautiously over the black ice, many drivers will drive normally and may lose control of their vehicles on the slick conditions.
