Man who caused accident at I-235 was traveling at 90 mph
The motorist who caused a four-vehicle accident along Interstate Highway 235 near 56th Street was traveling more than 90 miles per hour on the inside shoulder. The accident, which occurred on Monday, January 9 at approximately 7:30 a.m., happened when the driver crashed into a median and made his way into traffic.
According to Des Moines Police spokesman Sergeant Paul Parizek, a 38-year-old man from Dexter was cited for careless driving in relation to the accident. More charges may be filed after the investigation is concluded. Parizek said the man did not appear to be inebriated during the crash.
