Iowa Senate deliberates over Uber regulations
Uber is revolutionizing how people can commute and go places around town. Instead of hailing a cab or calling taxi companies for one of their cabs to pick them up, commuters can use a simple phone app, and Uber drivers can pick up these commuters using their personal vehicles.
According to WHO TV, the Iowa Texas Senate subcommittee on transportation met on March 30 to deliberate over a measure which would mandate companies like Uber to perform background checks, safety inspections, and give out liability insurance when car accidents happen. This measure cleared the Iowa House of Representatives 95-5, although it encountered some resistance in the Senate.
