Ford recalls 7,600 new Escape SUVs
Approximately 7,600 new 2013 Ford Escape SUVs have been recalled for a potential coolant leak that could cause the engine to overheat and possibly catch on fire. Only models with 1.6-liter four-cylinder engines are affected, the Washington Post reports.
Consumers who have purchased the defective SUV can take the vehicle to a Ford dealership where it will be repaired free of charge. Ford received one report of an engine catching on fire at a car dealership; no one was injured.
Ford has issued three recalls for the 2013 Escape in the past two months. One recall was issued to fix a possible brake problem and another to repair a separate engine leak.
