Andrew H. Doane’s practice areas include civil litigation and personal injury litigation. He has been lead counsel at trial, and has been a member of the trial team in a number of the Firm’s complex and high profile personal injury, ERISA and employment law cases.
Mr. Doane was recently named one of the top 40 attorneys under the age of 40 in the state of Iowa by The National Trial Lawyers. Membership in the Top 40 Under 40 is extended exclusively to those individuals who exemplify superior qualifications, trial results, and leadership. Selection is based on a thorough multi-phase process which includes peer nominations combined with third-party research.
Mr. Doane attended Central College in Pella, Iowa. In 2004, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree, Summa Cum Laude and with Honors. Mr. Doane graduated from Drake University Law School. During law school, he gained courtroom experience while serving as a student attorney at the Drake Legal Clinic, and he gained valuable mentoring and practical experience as a two year member of LaMarca Law Group’s highly regarded law student clerkship program. In 2007, he received his Juris Doctor degree from Drake University Law School with High Honors. He earned the distinctive grade of “Top A” in four law school courses.
Mr. Doane is licensed to practice law in the State of Iowa as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Iowa.
Mr. Doane is a member of the American Bar Association and the Iowa Association for Justice. He was selected by the Iowa State Bar Association to serve on its Ethics & Practice Guidelines Committee. He has volunteered as a Merit Badge Counselor for Boy Scouts of America, as a Legal Observer during national elections, and as a legal researcher for the Louisiana State Public Defender’s office in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Andy is an Innocence Partner fundraiser for the Innocence Project, a non-profit legal clinic that utilizes DNA evidence to prove the innocence of people in prison for crimes they did not commit.
Mr. Doane’s favorite pastime is spending time with his family. He is a fan of NFL football and the Seattle Seahawks. He is interested in national politics and technology issues. He enjoys fishing, particularly at his family’s cabin in Minnesota. During college, Mr. Doane worked as a salesman and mechanic in his father’s bicycle shop and he still enjoys recreational cycling.
