Janesville train-car collision injures woman
A 41-year-old woman from Janesville, Iowa was seriously injured when the car she was driving collided with a train at a crossing north of Janesville on Friday, October 14.
According to a report from The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier, the woman’s car was hit by a freight train owned by Montreal-based Canada National Railway Co. According to Bremer County Sheriff Dan Pickett, the crossing is barricaded by a yield sign. The woman was transported to a hospital in Waterloo and later on was moved to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City to receive medical attention for wounds that were considered serious but non-life-threatening.
