Hospital wrongly declares newborn dead

Posted on April 13th, 2012 No Comments

Five Argentina doctors have been suspended after they wrongly declared a newborn baby dead. The parents were told the baby was stillborn but found her alive when they went to visit her in the hospital morgue.

The baby, who was born three months premature, was taken to the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit in critical condition. Family says she has been making tremendous improvements. Her parents have named her Luz Milagro, or Miracle Light.

The family has told the media they plan on filing a medical malpractice suit against the hospital and their doctors. The mother says she has many unanswered questions concerning how their daughter was handled and the treatment she received prior to delivery.
