Man Politely Robs Big Lots

A man allegedly robbed a Big Lots in Des Moines Thursday night. A Big Lots clerk said the man showed her a rock in his right hand and told her to open the cash register and give him the money.

Although the man threatened the female clerk, she said the robber was polite, saying please and thank you while calling her "sweetie" and "honey."

Police said they looked at surveillance tapes and the store's owner claimed that the robber was a regular customer. The police described the man as black, over 6 feet tall, and weighing around 240 pounds.
